Every once in a while you hear a story that moves you to the core.? After hearing what God has done, you find yourself thinking, ?it isn?t hopeless, God still does miracles.?

Well, Jeff and Cheryl?s story certainly fits into this category.? This is a story of grace, and forgiveness, and miracles, and longing, and obedience, and more miracles.

The Scruggs marriage is far from perfect, but that is their message, perfect marriages are a fallacy, but real marriages can be incredible!? I will never forget the day that Cheryl and Jeff shared their story in our church services, it was a ?grace high point? for our Body and the Lord used it as a catalyst in scores of hurting marriages.

I gladly recommend Jeff and Cheryl to you and pray the Lord will use them in your church as powerfully as he did in ours.

Jeff and Cheryl Scruggs of Hope Matters Marriage Ministries have been our guest speakers at these retreats. ?Through the sharing of their touching and poignant personal journey of their marriage, divorce, and remarriage, our employees have seen and experienced a beautiful model of Christ?s forgiveness and hope.??Because of their unique story and their ability to share the powerful forgiveness and redemptive work of Jesus Christ, the barriers of fear begin to be knocked down for each employee and their spouse and they are able to relax into a weekend that is intended to be a time of personal reflection on the state of their own marriages, good and bad. ?We love that Jeff and Cheryl are so willing to spend one-on-one time with our couples throughout the weekend. ?They connect well with everyone and are always ready to share how there is hope for any and all marriages.

When our retreats end, our couples leave encouraged by Jeff and Cheryl’s teachings and have a deeper understanding of the calling God has for marriage and the unique relationship between a husband and wife.

Georgetown Baptist Church hosts a marriage retreat each year.? In March, Jeff and Cheryl Scruggs came to lead our marriage retreat.? They did an amazing job telling their story then spending several sessions sharing the lessons they learned through their divorce, reconciliation, and ultimate re-marriage.

Several couples came to this retreat with serious issues in their marriages and each of them expressed that Jeff and Cheryl?s story had a profound impact on their situation.? It was exciting for me as a pastor to see how God used this committed couple to help open the eyes of young couples who were struggling in their marriages.

Jeff and Cheryl Scruggs are using their experience?the bad and the good?to help others repair broken or hurting relationships.

Without any hesitation or reservation I recommend the ministry of Jeff and Cheryl Scruggs to pastors and churches that are looking for genuine people to encourage and strengthen marriages and families.
